Chapter One
~*~
Let it go,
He says, as he approaches
And eyes
The lantern she holds.
Laughing, she sets it free.
Music,
Lights
And
Masks mixed with
A little lust
Soon turn into clouds
Of smoke,
Blanketing her vision,
Calm,
And
Sense.
Until she’s left like
Jelly –
Splattered across the floor,
Sprayed on the walls,
Like blood.
Chapter Two
~*~
Let it go,
She thinks,
Sat waiting for
His return.
The nights used to
Sparkle
And fizz with
Intensity,
But are now filled
With silence.
As he finally
Decides to return,
She asks where
He’s been,
But he
Doesn’t answer.
Chapter Three
~*~
Let it go!
He shouts,
And she ducks
Like jelly that
Hits the floor.
Hiding behind the sofa,
She shakes and
Pleads for the
Silence she used
To hate.
Chapter Four
…
…
Silence
…
…
Chapter Five
~*~
Let it go?
She shouts,
Her hand raised,
A glass bowl in
Her grip;
His eyes wide
And voice shaking.
And in
One motion
His blood is
Sprayed on
The walls
Like
Jelly.
