Winchester’s local music venue The Railway opens its doors to hordes of local talent.
Any budding starlets itching to take to the mic can find refuge on a Monday night in front of a welcoming crowd at The Railway. Musicians of all abilities, young (minimum age 18) and old can showcase their spark free of charge: just bring your voice and your chosen instrument.
Music-lovers willing to broaden their horizons are also encouraged: The Railway’s bar is fully stocked and fairly priced, and combined with a relaxing atmosphere it makes for a great night out. Having hosted the likes of Kate Nash and Kasabian, the venue offers plenty of music variety, as well as the chance to see the next big thing born right before your eyes.
If music is not your forte, poets and comedians are also encouraged. This Thursday 14th October, Winchester students are presenting their own comedy night showcasing what they’ve learnt and what they are loving. Composed and organised solely by students it should make for a bonanza of laughs. So head down and prepare for a fast-paced, laugh-a-minute evening!
The Railway is situated (conveniently) right next to Winchester Railway Station.
